Windsor Garden was inspired by mid-century modern textures, shapes, florals and my obsession with all things British. I've always wanted a proper English garden, but I currently live in the midwestern United States and was not born with a green thumb! I even have a hard time keeping cacti alive, but my dream to travel to the beautiful English countryside and marvel at the lush gardens will one day come true. Until then, the Windsor Garden collection gives me the feeling of lush green grass and perfectly pink petals.
From the first time I visited Brooklyn, New York when I was 18 I had always wanted to live there. This collection is a small glimpse into a life I always thought I wanted, but never got to live. The Brooklyn collection was inspired by the city itself and the people who live there. The quiet people in tiny apartments with big dreams and lots of plants! People who leave their windows open so the breeze comes in and they can watch what’s going on down on the street below. This collection is a nod to a simple life in a big city full of loud neighbors, fire escape picnics, and rooftop gardens. I wanted this life, but now I realize that life has a funny way of turning out exactly how it’s supposed to. I kill plants for one, crowds make me nervous, and I’m scared of heights so having a 8th floor apartment is out of the question. Eighteen year old me had no fear though, so this collection is for her.
The Cold Snap collection was inspired by my love of a cold winter wind and a friendly snowman smile. My first memory of snow was when I was about 4 years old. That year, the snow was taller than me. My parents had to dig a tunnel to the garage and they let me run through it in my pink snowsuit and boots - I was hooked on the glittery white powder and the way my cheeks went numb before running inside for hot chocolate. Fast forward to adulthood and the first snowfall of the year is still 100% magic and I run outside like a little kid to catch the first flakes on my tongue. I'm cold-blooded and live for winter winds and building frosty friends with my boys in their stocking hats and mittens. Life is good in the winter, warm, loving, and cozy. People take their time, have fun, and enjoy their hot beverage of choice - mine's hot chocolate!
